You can always get help, whatever your age, without an account.

Go to a Thuthuzela Care Centre or hospital emergency unit now, ideally within 72 hours. It was not your fault, and you can get care whether or not you report to police.

What's happening

Within 72 hours you can receive HIV prevention (PEP), emergency contraception, STI treatment, injury care and counselling — all free. Thuthuzela Care Centres provide medical care, counselling and police services in one place.

Usually normal

Wanting to shower first — if you can, wait, as it preserves evidence; but come either way
Not remembering everything
Feeling numb, calm, or nothing at all

Get checked if

Heavy bleeding, injury or loss of consciousness — call 10177 immediately
More than 72 hours has passed — still go; treatment and support are still available
Being threatened by the person who hurt you — call 10111
